Stand-out stone, warm wooden tones and custom-built bookcases make this space sophisticated and welcoming.
Transforming two cramped rooms into one, we created an open floor plan for this family of four. Storage was key, but so was preserving the minimalist intent. With clever solutions, such as paper towel holder and knife drawers, wide mock-double drawers and an “appliance garage,” we kept countertops uncluttered. We added a soft dimension to the dining area with custom-designed and built arched bookcases and a banquette. The central light fixture is statement-making—uniting the room by accentuating its symmetry.
